As Head of HR for the leading luxury retailer Kurt Geiger Jenny was a board member and one of the team of 6 who undertook the successful management buyout of Kurt Geiger from the Harrods Group in July 2005.
During her time at Kurt Geiger Jenny developed a wide range of HR expertise. She lead an HR team providing HR services to 1000 retail and 80 head office employees in 80 locations. Her primary function was to improve business performance through people.
She designed and delivered the HR strategy including recruitment, training and development, organisational development and talent management. Prior to this Jenny led the training and development team, designing and delivering training to managers covering a broad range of topics, she also managed the assessment centres as part of the talent management proagramme. Before this Jenny held a number of senior retail operational roles based in Harrods and Selfridges.
Jenny has also worked for the John Lewis Partnership for eight years. She started her career working for the shoe retailer Russell & Bromley where she completed various roles and secondments throughout the UK as part of the company management development programme.

Kate Kelk gained her HR experience working firstly for key retailers The John Lewis Partnership and HMV Group Ltd, and then for the consultancy firm Deloitte.
Kate held several roles at Deloitte. Initially providing HR support to key departments which included the development of department specific competency based performance management systems. Then as the HR policy senior manager she developed HR policy in response to employment law changes and business requirements, during the time of the Andersons and Deloitte merger. Her final role was as the HR programme manager for assessment centre candidates seeking promotion to director and partner positions.
Whilst working for HMV Group Ltd Kate worked in a regional HR role for Dillons the Bookstore covering 20 stores with a headcount of 450 before taking on a head office role focused on harmonising terms and conditions and policies for the newly merged Dillons and Waterstones.
Kate’s career began with The John Lewis Partnership on their graduate trainee programme. She worked in a retail operation role before moving in to HR where she was part of the branch HR management team.
Kate has considerable experience in advising on core HR issues – recruitment, employment and performance management. Her experience allows her to offer a practical application of employment law alongside a productive approach to employee management and development.
The human side of Jen:
Jen prides herself on her extensive knowledge of lip gloss and shoes. She sings in a community choir, is totally obsessed with food, either cooking it or eating it and loves nothing more than enjoying it with a friends and family.
The human side of Kate:
Kate is a history buff and also a very keen genealogist. She is a governor at a local secondary school. When able to she escapes with a good book recommended by her book swap club and a large glass of wine.
